Kendra Brown, Psy.D.
LICENSED CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST, CT
Accepting new clients for in-office appointments. Also offering virtual sessions to clients in CT.
I am a psychologist licensed in CT. I received my doctoral degree in psychology from University of Hartford and conducted dissertation research related to eating disorders. My clinical training has primarily been with children, adolescents, young adults, and families across various levels of care. I have provided individual, group, and family therapy in private practice, outpatient, residential, and inpatient settings.
I have experience working with clients presenting with anxiety, depression, trauma, perfectionism, and relationship challenges. I particularly enjoy working with clients who are struggling with body image disturbance and eating concerns. I have provided Family Based Treatment (FBT) for eating disorders in outpatient settings, in addition to diagnostic evaluations and psychotherapy on both inpatient psychiatric and medical units.
My approach to therapy focuses on understanding how your relationships and life experiences have shaped the way you think, feel, and connect with others. In addition to looking at patterns that may have started early in life—especially in close relationships, I value teaching clients coping strategies to navigate present symptoms and distress.
